Garden and "Terrace" (Portfolio)

Here are two garden plans I did for different realty projects .
The black and white one is my first drawing of garden 4 years ago in my elective course. I use many kinds of vegetation(their names are on the right list in Chinese) to construct four seasons scene. So people can enjoy their life in house garden, feel spring amount the flowers , feel autumn from the Japanese dry scenery...... In the other plan, you can see that pool and stepping-stone are indispensable elements in Chinese garden.
This is my little project about the landscape on a small hill which is surrounded by highrises near Taojin subway station in Guangzhou,China.
The square and the pavilion on top of the hill offer people a nice site for recreation and rest. And the green which is built like the terrace will be attractive view in such a big city center.

  1. Hei Yu - I am so fascinated by the elements and the rules regulating the design of Chinese gardens. Would be great if you could tell us more. Your knowledge is so precious: you are the gardener of our class (to abuse of a reference to Gilles Clement..). Somehow you know the power that lies in the micro scale of the single plant and its cultivation, where it is not the dead matter of architecture that you orchestrate, but life forms with all their biological rhythms. How is your study of plant species and travelling stones going? I suggest you to have a look at the Parc Matisse by Gilles Clement in Lille: perhaps the meeting of your plants and stones could be just a regional landscape of "secret gadens" (type it in google ;-))
