BARCELONA BIENNALE

Five projects from our studio have been selected to be exhibited as part of AHO contribution to the 6th European Landscape Biennial in Barcelona. The INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF UNIVERSITY PROJECTS IN THE SCHOOLS OF ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPE will be celebrated in the Technical School Superior of Architecture of Barcelona, from the 27th of September till the 15th of October of 2010.

The agripark leads the flow

The exploitation of the agricultural land is becoming bigger and bigger, following the request of more food and as soon as possible, but something has to be done to protect or at least keep what we have now for the future generations.
Six strategies have been tested in the Orre shed tring to reorganize the agriculture, according to the soil and products quality but also according to the creation of a new public space that "lives" in a private context.

The border as a new horizon

The stones are one of the main features present on the landscape of Jaeren : they mark the old properties boundary, creating in the agricultural land a rigorous structure. But must say that some ownership has changed, therefore the real limit is not anymore the one showed by stones, and an invisible pattern is hidden beyond this matrix.

Is this the point of departure for a new structure? How can this new feature be integrated with the definition of park? can this element combine public spaces and private spaces? how can this ingredient project Jaeren into a new horizon?

Using as a model 6 different sites, I'll try to test out how trasformations, related to the word of park and consequently to the water, soil,etc, can shape and build a new frame.

In short the boundaries ,nevertheless the term in itself defines a precise space, become a methaphor for broader scenarios ,projected in the park notion.

Accessibility in North Jaeren

Here i found some interesting information and diagrams about the public transport and accessibility in the North Jaeren, and a scheme of the transport enhacement.

Since we are in the North area of Jaeren is obvious that the highest level of accessibility is concentrated in the cities like in Stavanger and Sandes!

Here after 1 hour and half of nervous i'm posting the JPG files of my three themes!

Parks, sustainable energy and Dante's poem are linked to Jaeren by the power of the landscape and his given resources.
So, why can't we take benefits from them to revitalize and to give to Jaeren a new and fresh image?

Multyfunctional park in Cornigliano,Genoa, Italy

This is the masterplan i made the second year of my bachelor degree in Genoa.
The project was to realize a green "lung" in the ex-steel industry in Cornigliano, both giving a new identity to the place that has been for long constituted by the industry and a recreational area to the citizens.
In particular the project included: a new trainstation,new shopping mall with cars parkings, skateboard park, recreational areas, squares, structures for sport activities, concert area and "belvedere" on the river where the habitat of protected species would have been restabilized.
I really liked working on this project because we explored the meaning of multyfunctional park: this included commercial activities, public transports and access, recreational issue, flora and fauna preservation. But it was also very interesting because we had the possibility of a direct dibate with the architects from the Public Administration.

The agricoltural park: a new tool for territorial planning of open spaces

Looking at the agricoltural field on the italian territory, i found a research that has the purpose to develop innovative ideas and services to vitalize the productive agricultural areas in the vicinity of large towns and cities around the short supply chain and recreational activities.

In particular, the study area of this research was the agricultural park South of Milan, the largest suburban agricultural area that borders the city: on this land planners are imagining new scenarios for a sustainable relation between town and country.

Jaeren survey

On November 11th-12th we have been in Jaeren for a preliminary survey of the region. We have been following an unreliable italian GPS and this beautiful map. The result: many impressions, and a slide show, that we invite you to see, here.
