    I was at Orre(jearen) yesterday making a film concerning 150 stranded
    Wooper Swans( Sang Swans). Migration/Mapping complexities which
    can be related to your Appear/Disappear....The key word here,
    which you should look into is Singularities.Check out the book:
    Architecture of Time/ Sanford Kwinter..should be in your ark.Library,
    especially chapter 1. the Complex and the Singular.
