Regeneration of radcliffe
This project took place in a suburb outside Manchester called radcliffe. It was about creating better public conditions in a typical workingclass town dominated by cars and a huge shoping mall. We were given a specific site. Since there was alot of local buses around, but no good spaces to enter these buses, my project was about developing a new center with a main street concerning the buses as the main urban feature. I like this project because I think local public transportations and the designof these types of spaces are very understimated as important generators/spaces in urban environments.

Hi Mads - very nice that you posted this project! It reminds me many issues I was also tackling when doing my diploma. At that time I was interested in what we can call "spaces perceived in distraction" - to borrow a formula from Walter Benjamin. It is all these spaces that we cross in everyday life, while strolling through the city, or where we spend time for waiting..for a bus for instance. Walter Benjamin "Passages" is a very visionary and inspiring reading that you could have a look to, talking about these kind of spaces in IXX century Paris..
