Compendium of little things - basic facts

This is the most important facts that I have used further in my project. Facts that are interesting and which might not have thought of before, are put together in a small compendium of little things. There is so much info about the birds that it quickly becomes difficult to zome out again. But the basis for my project will be the Red List of Rogaland.

I am very happy that you formulate your "Compendium of small things", together with your former post, that I commented. It fomulates the Geography of Vulnerability in a very promising way. I am still looking eagerly forward to how this come together in your next move or "line of flight". Do you propose a type of concept that adds to your compendium of small things? Or do you point out fields and give them new meaning (and new ecological status) on a larger scale? And how do you present the next step, as a matrix or an on site concept?

  2. I work more with creating a concept in a larger scale, when I feel like this is missing when it comes to planning the landscape. It is easy to zome in on details to make efforts for the individual bird, but it is difficult to plan a larger scale. But small things will still be very important. For it is the little things that start the conversion of larger things. Like a snowball that gets bigger and bigger the longer it rolls. It is a form of a think tank of measures you can do and give the individual an awareness of the problem of vanishing habitats. It is easy to refer to facts, but it is difficult to refer to sense and act in a good way.

Birds, like many other vulnerable species, is not a main part of planning, they are weak voices, not counted as important. To create a concept in a larger scale
means joining some voices and forces and making the bird habitats " a matter of concern" (Bruno Latour).
In this sense your compendium and your network of habitats is a mindblower and an eyeopener. They are the arguments, the library and the deep knowledge that your large scale concepts take as "a point of departure" (a phrase from the Nordhavnen concept). This knowledge, that you are the only one who have gathered, is then a bases for possible offensive actions on many scales. You defend and enhance habitats with an offensive strategy and generousity. I look forward to see it. Please blog the next step in your progress, I can only follow it from my PC - because I can not be in the studio
