BSc Project - Dover wooden boat building school and museum - 2006/07

The town of Dover is really quite a miserable place yet it has some fantastic qualities that give it reason for hope. Along with the famous white cliffs, castle and other fortifications the seafront and marina are quite special. Yet the locals dont see it. I wanted to celebrate there rich history and once strong connection to the sea. Anything other than a carpark and closed public toilet would be and improvement on my site. I looked to the past to shape the future ;)

  1. It is great Adam that you finally entered the blog! I like this project especially in its dialogue between scales..I really see this is a quality of you work that you should enhance in this semester also. Jaeren is a territory where different and etherogeneous forces and logic collide, but yet it recollects its evidence in the stones, exhuding from the soil as if there was some sort of hidden life.. I also very much like the engagement with matter. Do you know the b-side work of Raoul Bunchoten/CHORA experimenting with concrete, like they did in their Homerton Pavillion? (sorry for giving you a reference from London, I am sure you know it but perhaps the others don't..) Thanks for this contribution! -a
